The "Little Joe" cars, so named by Walt Peterson, were built and racedthroughout New England and beyond by the late Bill Cary of Riverside, RI. The car with the red numeral was the first of the two cars built by Bill. The second car has more detail, i.e. an upholstered seat, functional exhaust pipe, etc. But the first deuce is believed to have more race miles.  The second car
appears in the Bob Ames book VINTAGE MINIATURE RACING CARS on pg. 114 as it appeared in the Peterson collection.
